Hi! 5 days post op and noticed some people were able to have cottage cheese? Can I?
So I have officially "mourned" food...and have realized for the next 3 weeks that all I have to look forward to is water and chocolate protein drinks with a dash of Sugar free jello and popsicles. Then I noticed someone was 3 days post op and she got to eat cottage cheese?? My Gawd!! I would have been splurging 2 days agao ..is it true?? MAybe a little creamy soup or is that a no no , too??
Thanks
Mark(Im a girl)
Hi Mark. Every doctor is different. One of us was allowed to eat cottage cheese three days after surgery, that is true. However, I am not allowed to have anything bu****er and boost for two weeks post op. I would strongly suggest that you follow your doctor's instructions for the remainder of your recovery period. Three weeks seems like a long time, but really, you can do it. Think of how far you've come and what you want to accomplish. Remember, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.
Take care and keep us posted.

Hi,
As Ellen said, all doctor's are different. My Dr. Farrell does not believe in the 2 week presurgical fast because he said it leaves the patient weak going into surgery. He does these surgeries all the time laproscopically and it does not cause a problem. I ate my last light meal the night before surgery, but nothing after midnight. I came home on a pureed diet and have not had any problems with cottage cheese, oatmeal or my fruited protein drinks. Again, it depends on your doctor and I went and bought the Campbell select soups in the box and those have done well. When needed I pop them in the blender before the microwave. I would never tell you to go against your doctor's wishes! He will do what he feels is best for you.
Blessings,
Diane
