Diane F. is on the other side of WLS
I was able to go up to UNC Chapel Hill Hospital to see Diane and she's doing very well. She's delight with the care she has received from her Dr. and the hospital staff. I'll let her fill you in on the details of the procedure, but suffice it to say she is "on the loser's bench" and doing very well. While I was there the staff was very friendly and accomodating, they answered her call within seconds and were usually in her room in less than 30 seconds after she called them. The facility is modern, bright, clean, and spacious.
First, let me tell you that she looks great! She had a killer headache when I first arrived, but she asked from some medication, which was promptly provided. Apparently she's doing very well in the pain management department, again I'll let her give you the details, but it is being managed very well. She's on clear liquids and we took a lap around the track. She's really up and moving very well. She sat up in her chair for a while as well. She sure is working hard at doing what she needs to do to really take care of herself. Of course she tires easily, but hey the girl just had major abdominal surgery! Her headache is giving her much more trouble than her abdomen. And when I left her this afternoon her headache seemed to be under control. She said that as of now, the plan is to let her go home tomorrow.
Diane asked me to pass on her thanks to well wishers and let you know that she'll update you when she can.
Congratulations Diane ... You did it!
