1 YEAR
Hi everyone!
I was just reminded that it is my one year anniversary of my surgery today!...It has passed so quickly and my entire life has changed in this short time...Biggest news is that I'm getting married on Sunday to a wonderful man...same guy I was supposed to marry in November but we postponed the date due to my surgery to remove a ruptured disc. So, in short:
March '06 - having gbs weight 282, unhealthy, lonely, depressed
March '07 weight steady 181 with 101 pound loss, size 14, getting married, turning 40, trying to get pregnant, find I eat between 1200 and 1800 calories per day, I have an awesome relationship with food...love to eat but for the first time in my life I stop when I'm full and I have food left on my plate...I feel normal. I'm very, very happy and would recommend the surgery to anyone who feels they need it. I find I can eat more sugar than I want to, but am happy that I can enjoy some once in a while...certain foods don't agree with me...chinese food and milk for example are still foods I can't tolerate...however I can eat a bagel and they have some protein, ha ha....I have not been trying to lose for about four months since I started trying to get pregnant...but once I accomplish this goal I plan to lose another 30 pounds...I know it will just be a matter of cutting back a tiny bit and exercising...Life is really great!!!
