When we went to the DukeWLS Seminar they said that they do accept couples, but since each person needs support in the beginning that they stagger the surgeries. This way you can help her get started. Once she's strong enough and doing well, they'd take you. Good wishes to you and your wife and you take this life changing journey together. Barbara C.

WELCOME!! It wonderful you and your wife will be sharing this journey (and meals!) together. Congratulations on her approval and best wishes for yours. Only suggestion I can offer is to use this site. It has been a great source of information and support for me. I'm so glad my surgeon recommended it. Keep in touch, Karen

Congratulations to you and your wife, Greg! I suggest that you learn everything you can about the different surgery options and surgeons in your area. There is a good book that is helpful in the beginning called "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies". It's part of the ...for Dummies series. I found it helpful in the beginning. You might be able to get one at your local library if you're interested. This site is also great, look around and check out some profiles, they can be inspirational. Take care and please keep us posted on both of you. ~Ellen

Hi Greg! Congratulations to your wife on her approval and to you especially for your excitement and support of her! I was recently approved and will receive my surgery date next Monday, March 26. My boyfriend just tipped the scales at 301 lbs for the first time and he won't even consider it. However, he is very supportive of me and loves me either way. I am hoping tha****ching me go through the surgery may calm some of his fears and maybe he will consider it at a later date. Where are you all having your surgeries? Please let me know if I can help at all. I do care about you both. Blessings, Diane Fowler

Hey Greg, Welcome. Tell you wife congratualtions. When is her surgery? What surgeons are you and your wife going to? That would be wonderful to go through this together, then there is no worries about having to cook for the family and not eat myself. Are you opting for the lap band too? You are just starting your journey but it sounds like your wife has 'gone through the process'. It's nice that it is staggered this way you can help her and then she can help you. Good luck to both of you. Keep us informed!
