waiting for approval
Well, here I go again for the 2nd time. Just had my paperwork sent into my insurance for the second time last week, they denied me the first time last year. I have been trying to have WLS for over 2 yrs now, my patience is wearing very thin at this point!! I mean I have mild sleep apena, type 2 diabetes, migranes & a very bad family history of my fathers side. What more do they need. At last weight check, I was 283 lbs. I have been heavy all my life, I am so ready to be "smaller" for once. To be able to be here for my 8 yr old son as he grows up & not have to worry about my weight killing me. I am just praying that they approve it this time.
If I ever get approved, I plan on using Dr Fuzz Fernandez at Baptist. Have you had the surgery done or are you waiting? I am getting tired of waiting! I have been trying for over 2 yrs to get this approved. I think I will cry if the insurance denies it a second time. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hey Gina,
I haven't had my surgery yet - just finished up all my appointments and am waiting for my stuff to be sent in to my insurance. I am using Fuzz too!! Have you been to any of the support group meetings? I have been to 2 so far. And you are definitely not alone playing the waiting game -- I HATE IT!!!!!! I have Medcost insurance - what insurance do you have and why did they deny you the first time around?

This whole process is a test of one's patience isn't it? Does the insurance company tell you 'why' you were denied? Who is your insurance with?
I am playing the waiting game too...waiting to see the Surgeon for the first time. I don't think they have even gotten to the point of sending my packet to my insurance (Tricare).
Good luck to you and keep fighting it...it sounds like you meet the criteria I wonder what their problem is with approving?
Hang in there!
