Looking for people in Hickory,NC

My husband and I are both seriously wanting surgery and would love some input on doctors, how to handle insurance, what our first steps should be, etc. Thanks!!

Hi I don't live in Hickory but had surgery there. I went to the Hickory Surgical Center. Dr. Cook did my surgery 4 months ago. He is great. You can click on his name to the left and get more info. I have lost 86 pounds and would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck. First you decide where you want to have surgery at Frye or Catawaba Hospital and then contact the hospital. It took me 4 months from first contact to surgery.

Good Luck in your search...I am not personally familar with the docs in Hickory but I am sure you will get good input. There are several in the Charlotte area. Insurace is my area of work....First thing I would call your insurance company and ask them if there is coverage for CPT code 43644 (Laproscopic RNY gastic bypass) or CPT 43770 (adjustable gastric banding, lap-band). That would be your first step. Depending on your insurance some require a supervised diet so you might want to ask them what their policy is. Again good luck!!!!
