Dr. Lowe Info?

I am having my first meeting with Dr. Lowe on the 28th and would like to hear about him. Good, bad, anything just to get an idea of what to expect. I live in Asheville and no one in my group has went anywhere but Hickory and Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks.

Hello See Me, I personally used Dr Melkonian, who works in the same office as Dr Lowe. I have met with Dr Lowe and know some folks that have used him ---- HE IS A Super Doctor and you will love him. Such great bedside manner, so nice and polite. A truly caring kind man. I would not think twice about having him as my surgeron. Good Luck

Thanks for the reassurance! Dr. Melkonian doesn't accept my insurance. I was originally referred to Duke and one of the office personnel is HORRIBLE! If you have time and don't mind, could you give me some idea of what happens in the first appointment? Anything specific I should take? Things that are covered? You know... all the lil things that end up kinda big when you have nerves! Thanks, again!

hi i am waiting to get approved by my insurance and i going through dr lowe in charlotte my cousin had him and she weighed 265 now she weigh 135 in 1year thats why am going to him

Hi, Dr. Lowe did my surgery June 14, 2006. I can honestly tell you that I met all the Dr.s that preform the surgery at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte at a seminar and Dr. Lowe is the very very best. I love him to death. He answers all my questions, takes plenty of time with me and my family, and is a very skilled surgeon. I wouldn't have traded him for any one else. There are some of his office staff that sometimes can make you feel like you are bothering them when you call but Dr. Lowe has even called me at home just to check on my progress personally. Just out of the blue! He is a very good Dr. and I would recommend him to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shannon

Thanks so much! The office staff have been fantastic! Only once when one called me back did she sound frazzled... not rude or bothered... just busy. I knew then I had made the right decision not to go to Duke. How fast after your first appointment did you have surgery? I already have all the test results faxed down to Dr. Lowe.

I had my very first appointment with Dr. Lowe in the last week in April and I had my surgery June 14. He is the Jr. Partner so the wait is normally not as long. I stongly suggest you start writing a list of questions down and take it in with you when you go see him. He is really good about taking the time to listen and talk to you. I still take out my list when I go see him and I have my 9 month appointment on March 19. They are really busy in the office and I know they feel frazzled sometimes. Everyone there is very nice and it's aways fun to me when I see Carrie Dr. Lowe's nurse because she aways remembers you and notices how much weight you have lost. I can't wait for my 9 months because I have lost 140lbs as of today.

WOW! Congrats! Don't think I don't have my list! I'm a nosy thing! I have to know it all! This will be my first surgery EVER. I'm just bowled over at 140 pounds!!! I can't imagine... it would be so nice to see my cold feet again.
