Things I look forward to by Diane Fowler: 1. Crossing my legs. 2. Crossing my ankles at the same time! 3. Breathing easily. 4. Tying my shoes without turning blue. 5. Jogging. 6. Getting my neck back. 7. Filling the tub up before I get in. 8. Painting my toe nails bright red. 9. Bikini underwear. 10. Sexy lingerie and all that goes with it. 11. Saying "no thank you" to seconds at the dinner table without salivating. 12. Scratching my back (and other body parts) without a screwdriver, ruler, etc. 13. Turning down all those dirty old men that didn't know my name 6 months ago. 14. Wearing heels.. yes! With a very sexy dress! 15. Wearing seamed stockings with those heels.. thigh highs.. so sexy on the dance floor as I spin around... 16. Jogging every day. 17. Letting my hair grow down below my back side. 18. Wearing makeup again. 19. Getting my nails done. 20. Running the Boston Marathon in 2008! Just to name a few. Blessings, Diane

Wow, sounds like you have really given the 'new you' plenty of thought. But it got me thinking....what is MY wish list and I realized that I DO have one. Here it is: 1. Not having to take diabetes meds, blood pressure meds, acid reflux meds, depression meds...counting all these pills is tiresome. 2. Being able to stand for long periods of time without my back and legs hurting. 3. Taking long, fast walks with my dogs. 4. Fitting in all kinds of seats (booths in restaurants, those nasty chairs in school where the desks are attached, movie theater seats) 5. Not being out of breath when I clean my house or walk up the stairs with coworkers. 6. Having the energy to go dancing. 7. Buying clothes in ANY store at the mall, calling out to my daughter while I'm in the dressing room that I need those pants/blouse/skirt in a SMALLER size, and tucking in my blouses. 8. Being able to chase my grandbaby around once she starts walking. 9. And maybe, who knows just maybe, I can join Diane in 2008 at the marathon! Thanks Diane for reminding me to dream!

I have been thinking about my wish list a lot lately. So here goes. . . 1. Being totally healthy. 2. Shopping in regular size clothing department. 3. Go roller skating with my son. 4. Go bike riding with my son. 5. Buy cute bras and panties that mat*****olors other than white!! 6. Wear high heels again. 7. Fit into and look hot in a "sexy little black dress" 8. Crossing my legs 9. Painting my toe nails without fear of passing out! 10. Having my son say, "Gosh Mom, you look skinny!!" I'm sure there are more but that's a start! Good luck to everyone on accomplishing all their goals. Hugs, Donna

Donna, I totally know where you are coming from with this. It feels amazing to be able to do some of those things when either you could not or had not done them in years because of your weight. I hope you get to each one of those mile stones and enjoy everyone.

Things I'm looking forward to... 1. Shopping in regular stores. 2. Crossing my legs. 3. Not worrying about whether any given restaurant will have a booth big enough for me. 4. Walking to and from football and baseball games at ECU without giving it a second thought. 5. Not being out of breath on stairs. 6. Not feeling like I'm an embarrassment to my husband or kids, or myself. 7. Never hearing again, "But you have such a pretty face." 8. Victoria's Secret bras. 9. Looking in the mirror and seeing me, not the weight. (I hear that takes some time.) 10. If I may be bold, better sex. 11. No longer being a slave to food.

Ladies, Keep on thinking of all these things you want to do , because YOU WILL BE THERE. One year ago ( March 14th ) ,,, I had all your dreams, today I can do them all ( well not the Marathon thing LOL) ...... It still is like being in another person's body, being able to do stuff again. It is wonderful. Take Care

1. Being able to find pretty clothes that fit. 2. Not being the biggest person at work, in my family, of all of my friends, everywhere! 3. Not getting literaly sick before walking into a restaraunt, fearing if I will fit in the booth. 4. Not fighting with my b/f everytime we are intimate, b/c I am so embarrassed. 5. Not having to wish these things and think that I will never acheive them. 6. Feeling pretty.

Hi Stacy, I have experienced each and every one of those emotions and scenarios. Have you had your surgery yet? Where are you in your journey? I am blessed with a man that tells me I am beautiful and loves me as I am now. I used to think that I didn't want a man that accepts me this way. I wanted a man that motivated me to lose weight! So I began dating a weight lifter. He was beautiful but I was never able to be intimate with him because that motivator also made me feel ugly and grotesque. So after a year and a half, I returned to the man who loves me unconditionally. He is not at all threatened by this surgery as was the big buff guy. Funny how that works~ Blessings, Diane
