what is the differance ????

i was on youtube watching some video's on weight loss surgery and i'm wondering is there a differance between Mini-Gastric Bypass and a roux-en-Ygastric bypass ?

I have a friend that had Mini-Gastric bypass. She told me that the main difference was in the way the stomach was bi-sected. In RNY it is done horizontally and in Mini it is a more vertical incision. I'm not sure beyond that what the differences are. The idea behind this has something to do with the way your stomach expands. The thought is that the Mini allows for less expansion after surgery. That's all I know. ~Ellen
