what is the differance ????
There is a difference. Too much for me to explain, but if you want tollok on my surgeon's website, he details the different procedure.

As an aside, ECU did a webcast of an RNY operation a year or so ago. You can watch it at http://www.or-live.com/archives.cfm?browseby=specialty&id=9&event=225 .

I have a friend that had Mini-Gastric bypass. She told me that the main difference was in the way the stomach was bi-sected. In RNY it is done horizontally and in Mini it is a more vertical incision. I'm not sure beyond that what the differences are. The idea behind this has something to do with the way your stomach expands. The thought is that the Mini allows for less expansion after surgery. That's all I know.
