Good Sunday morning to you all. I just have to post because I am so excited today. I met with surgeon on Tuesday of this past week. (My first actual face to face with him.) He is very strict about his rules and regulations regarding qualifications before he will commit to surgery, which I am feeling really good about. You know that he wants the best for you. But the reason I am happy today is this...I have 30 lbs to lose to get where he wants me to be for surgery, so I started a low carb diet Wednesday and have been drinking the heck outta water and walking. (I know low carb is not good after surgery, but I gotta get down there and doc said OK.) In past 4 days I have lost 7 lbs. Whoo hoo! (I know - 7 lbs. Whoop - dee - doo, but heading in the right direction.) I also called my insurance company to make sure that they cover this procedure and was told yes - I only have a $250 copay. So, besides $$ for nutritionist, whom I met with Friday, and will again this Friday, and my psych evaluation, which I will have after I lose 30 lbs, all else is covered. *sigh* I am highly motivated, excited, nervous and cannot sleep, but I do not care! LOL I am FINALLY on my way to getting my life back! Thank you all for all your posts and pictures that have truly motivated me and kept me pushing forward when it didn't always look so attainable. I am on my way and you all have helped me get where I am and where I need to be. I love ya for it! God Bless, Mare

It is so ggod to read your joy. That is the RIGHT attitude. Keep going. Lose the thirty pounds. You can do it. Embrace every new day with this "I can do it" mindset. Yes. Losing the weight is good for surgery. I lost 18 pounds on AAAdkins before surgery. It helped me afterward. I already knew how to say no. I hope you get along as well as I have done. God bless. I am praying for you. Diane

Girl, I can relate all over the place! I am losing 45lbs to get to my pre-surgery weight. I've been going for two weeks now. As of last Wed, I had lost 6.6. I wanted more, but I'll take everything I can get. This is my last task, as I have all my tests and evals done. While I am doing this, Dr. P's office is submitting my insurance, so we should be ready to go as soon as I get there. Since my Doc told me on Mardi Gras that he needed me to drop these pounds, I am shooting for the end of Lent as my target date. Hope to get there before, but I'll be happy if Easter morning I am doing the happy dance at 350lbs! You will drop this weight so fast, and as a previous poster said, them things is gone forever! I am so excited for you! Drop me a line if it gets challenging , and I'll help you up! Robin
