Im having a problem still with fatigue. Some days are better than others but today for instance I got up at 7AM and took my kids to school and by 9AM I was back in bed asleep. This is not just tired but exhausted. Im sleeping about 16 hours a day still. How long does this last?

I was very fatigued for the first 2 months or so post-op... then it got better, well starting at the beginning of the year it came back *sigh*. I had bloodwork and a follow up this month and everything came back fine... was told to swtich from BComplex liquid to just plain B12 sublingual... Ive been doing so for 2 weeks now. After lunch I could just fall asleep at my desk... when I get home in the evening I am just drained. I cant stay up past 10pm and when I lay down I fall asleep almost immediately and sleep like a rock... it now takes me about 45 minutes to get out of bed in the morning - pre-op I would usually wake up before my alarm! I keep some energy drinks here at work for the days I feel like I just cant make it thru the rest of the day. Surgeon said that it could be my body is just now feeling the effects of the surgery/malabsorption and it sometimes takes some longer than others *shrug* Im hoping this B12 sublingual will make a huge difference *fingers crossed* wish I had something more encouraging to say!!!

No advice~~~Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. I feel like a slug most of the time. I don't sleep as much but I just feel exhausted all the time. My Surgeon says it takes some 3 to 6 months to gain it all back. Take care!

I went to Dr V today for my 2 week post op visit and told him about the fatigue. I asked him for an Rx for B12 shots. He ended up having one of his nurses give me a shot. The shot hurt more than a little. Maybe it was the 3 inch long needle...lol By the time I was halfway out of Charlotte I felt so much better. My energy went up 100000%. One the way there I was hoping I could drive the whole way without getting exhausted and after the shot I was singing with the radio and laughing, full of energy.

Dang it. My MD told me to not even take B12 until two more months and then we'd talk about it. Hmmmmmm.....that just ain't right. But I'm still happy for you. Sing and laugh away!

This is the first day I havent had to take one two or three naps just to get through the day. Ive been up since 7AM. I went to the YMCA and walked for 30 minutes, came home and I still feel good. B12 really works.

That's awesome. I'm happy for you. I might start taking B12 soon if I keep dragging along like this.
