Hang in there , the first few weeks are the hardest. I promise you will eat again. You will feel wonderful soon. You will need to buy new clothes. You will not regret the surgery. Keep reading the board, look at successful pictures of folks that have lost weight , it is worth changing your eating habits to live longer and be able to LIVE fully trust me . If you start feeling down in the dumps talk to your doctor about it, don't hold your saddness in. Find support groups , exercise , make every little step a big thing. Be proud of yourselfs above all , you have loved yourself or someone else enough to have this surgery so you can be with them. Good Luck to you all , don't worry yourselfs , we old timers are here to help. Love 2 you all Allison aka, the Pug's Momma p.s. I have new pictures on my profile ,,, go see the new me

Allison, Thanks for the inspirational email. It's just what I needed to hear. I took a long walk today and came exhausted. I took a nap and kept waking long enough to think "I really should get up" and "I can't move yet". 2 1/2 hours later my husband woke me. I felt like such a slug but he was very understanding and encouraging. Lack of energy has been the biggest surprise to me. I never expected it to be sooooo low! Although I've had a few minor setbacks, I just do the best I can each day, knowing it does get better. Thanks to people like you! Beautiful pictures. Congratulations to you! Karen

Karen, Congrats, Right now you are in the 'honeymoon' phase of gastric bypass. Look it up and you can find out the specifics. The fatigue will last for a while, it will eventually pass too. You will get stronger everyday. The funny thing is losing weight is hard work. You still need to rest too, it's good your walking. I remember being so exhausted it took all I had to shower after going to the gym. Jen

Jen, Thanks for the tip on the honeymoon phase. That was completely new to me but I did look it up and now understand what it is. All along this process I have been completely motivated to do everything exactly right. I hope I never loose that so I can keep loosing the pounds! Thanks again. Karen
