Complaint of the day!

Tomorrow is my birthday (woo hoo!) and yesterday I decided I was heading to the mall to buy a new outfit for the big day. Pre-op a trip to the mall meant parking at the door closest to Lane Bryant... heading there, shopping and heading back out (unless shoes or accessories were needed). Well, the only thing I can purchase at Lane Bryant now is jeans (sz 14) which I was super happy about at first. After going to a few stores I found that I no longer know how to shop for my post WLS body. I am too small for Lane Bryant and too big still for most of the "normal" stores. I went to forever 21 and was excited to find I fit in their large top... well only the cotton ones that would stretch. Everything else squished my "girls" like unbelieveable! Dont skinny girls have boobs? I mean SHEESH! It wasnt the best shopping trip... I was disappointed to see many stores size large (and not even carrying XLs!) looked like something a kid would wear... since size 12 is now the "average woman" where the heck are these people shopping?? I find myself still sticking to the same stores Ive always shopped at... just moved into the non-plus dept - Old Navy, Target, Dots. I am only 27 and want to dress my age.... its hard to shop in the trendy stores because everything is so small... and now with summer comming its all spaghetti straps, sleeveless etc... no way am I letting the chicken wings flap in the wind!! I did go to Lane Bryant the day before and bought new jeans... they had so much cute stuff in there! I wish there was a Lane Bryant for non-plus sizes!!! Good thing is I am more motivated now and ever to get to my goal weight so I can have an easier time shopping!!!

Hi Jenn, Just wondered if you've tried the Avenue? I was in there a few days ago, and all their 12's and 14's are marked down REALLY CHEAP! I am only 5 1/2 weeks post op, and I needed to get some slacks that would stay up! I can't wait until I can get into the 12's and 14's. Just a suggestion!! JudieB

This skinny woman has no boobs at all. It is just as hard finding pants little enough to fit. It is hard to find double 00....I am in the same well almost same boat as before. Couldn't find anything big enough now not little enlugh. I buy a children's size 10. They are high waters on me but they fit every where else. I am 42 years old and dress like I am 18. I love Pac-sun..........they rock..........

Jennifer~~Happy late birthday. I hope it was wonderful for you in spite of the bad shopping trip. I can't help you because it's been a long time since I've seen 12-14 but there is an Avenue at Arboretum. Good luck and in the big scheme of things, I'd much rather sweat not finding the junior sizes as opposed to pushing the limit at Lane Bryant! You'll be past the 12s in no time. Keep up the great work. Also, thanks again for the clothes you passed onto me. I've only worn the jogging pant (everyday!) and the pick sweater but I lust after them everyday in my closet! Take care and happy shopping! Karen
