so its about time. Ok,, Im 2 months out,, and down 38lbs. And they said this band doesnt work. Here are some observations that I have found in case there's anyone out there on the fence about the band. 1. Eat slow,, or your ass will PAY! I have had SEVERAL band whoopings, and its due to my mind not catching up(in time enough) to my band rules. 2. THANK GOD I didnt tell anyone about my surgery!!! That was huge. Now these compliments I get make my day, and I dont have to listen to peoples ignorant comments about wls. 3. Burping is a life saver. LOL,,,,, sometimes, I move in the silliest of ways, trying to get a burp up. 4. You CAN literally FEEL food going down. Boy does it feel good when it finally goes thru. 5. Protein isnt bad. In fact I look forward to my Isopure. 6. Working out is almost a necessity during my day now. I am now addicted to the feeling I have AFTER(notice I didnt say DURING) my workout. 7. Nothing fits, and I LOVE it. 8. Actually looking forward to seeing my PCP in March. Even if he does have the personality of a wet dish rag. Im going to finally get a decent reading on my blood labs. 9. This board can be wonderful. It can also be a place for opinionated, uninformed, people. 10. Where are the wls men? Not many on here to consult with. I love women to death, but topics tend to be of the feminine persuasion a lot. 11. Fighting for this band was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love my band. Steve Que

Steve, thank you for your honest response about your Lap Band. I am waiting for insurance approval and then I am ready to roll. My husband is considering this journey as well. It is nice to see the mans perspective! Good Luck to you. I know you will be successfull in this journey.

Congrats Steve! I went to my first support meeting tonight and learned more about the WLS. I was considering the lapband but the Dr's nurse said tonight that BCBSNC just approved it 2 weeks ago and the surgeon I'm considering is in TRAINING!! That's scary. Anywho, the more info I get the more I want this surgery. Best wishes on your journey! Keep us posted.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That's similar weight loss to what people with RNY are experiencing. Congrats on your success and on having this behind you! ...Jill

Hi Steve, I wanted to congratulate you on your wl and I would like to know what you are eating? Do you mind sharing? I am a bandster too but lately I have been having trouble with constipation. I have tried to increase my water but I can only drink so much. Have you experienced this?

Hello Jamie, Im glad you responded. Ok,, what am I eating? I eat a light breakfast( and usually its about 1-130 in the afternoon when I eat that. Then I eat a sensible dinner. Mind you, I work 11am to 7pm..so my eating schedule is shifted. My wife is a NC southern born woman, so I have to watch all that "good" food. Ya know? But let me say this. Lately Ive been eating BIG PORTIONS of food!!! I think I need another fill, because I can eat a regular sized meal, and I dont like that. Ive lost a good amount of weight, in a relatively short period of time. But listen, I work out like CRAZY, and I think that most of that weight loss was when I was on liquids. Whatever it was, I will take it. Listen, dont be fooled at the amount of weight I have lost. Its been hard, and it CONTINUES to be hard. Stay in touch. Steve
