2 1/2 yrs post op....intestinal problem

I had gastric by-pass surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago with no complications. Prior to having surgery I had a rare type of colitis so when my surgery was done my intestinal track wasn't shortened as much as most peoples. My diarhea has been better sense the surgery but about 1 year ago I started having horrible smelling gas and even though I wasn't having diarhea I still had the urgency to get to the bathroom fast. I have been being treated for a small bowel bacterial overgrowth. I'm currently ungoing test with another gastro specialist which has confirmed the bacterial overgrowth. Just curious, is there anyone else that is having this problem or a problem similar to it? CRW

I suffered with IBS with diarhea pre op. I am 19 months out and am having issues with really loose stools and horrible gas. I am in the process of finding a dr. to check me out for a bacterial thing. I am having issues lately with eating and having it run right through me. I have had this for about 6 weeks...never thinking it could be a bacterial thing until a week or so ago.
