Hi!! New but not new....

Hi- I'm new but not new to this forum. I don't recognize many of the names that were on here when my hubby had his surgery (Sept 2005) and shortly afterwards. I'm now preparing for surgery myself. I've had the initial consult, done the paperwork, blood work, had 1st phych appt, I have some other stuff next week and my last thing will be having a mammogram on Feb 28th. I live in the High Point/Greensboro area. Dr Hoxworth with Central Carolina Surgery is my surgeon. I'm not looking forward to the nutritionist because I'm not overly fond of the one they use for these surgeries. Beth

Hi Beth. Welcome back to the boards! How is your husband making out with his weight loss? Glad you made it back. I really liked the nut that my doctor sends his patients to. Her name is Katrina Seagrave. She was knowledgeable but not condescending, which I appreciated. Good luck with your visit and mammogram (ouchies!). Please keep us posted of your progress. Hi Ellen Thanks for the welcome. Aside from a revision where they had to open him two weeks later and have a g tube (the surgeon used it for studies on the old portion of the stomach, normally it is used as a feeding tube for anyone whose ability to eat through the normal digestive tract is compromised) he's lost 130 to 140 lbs. And can pretty much eat what he wants within reason. He does have to be careful with fried stuff. That's the problem that I have with the one they send us to, she is condescending and acts as though I know nothing about nutrition. Thanks for the good thoughts on the mammogram, usually I have it done first thing in the am and take pain reliever before I head there. Better safe than sorry. Fill me in on your surgery & etc. I am always interested in hearing about it. TTL, Beth
