Dr. Voellinger, Southeast Bariatrics Lap Band Seminar WOW!!!!
After I have attended several other Bariatric seminars in the Charlotte area. I went to a seminar featuring Southeast Bariatrics. I was so excited and blown away. The seminar focused specifically on the Lap Band and the other WLS as a background. That was great. A infamercial films was show regarding the Lap Band, A power point slide presentation and a question and answer session. They gave us a lot of information in a packet regarding the band. I was in heaven!!!! Other seminars I attended in the are was not as extensive and talked about the other WLS vs the band.
Dr. V was very personable and humorus and he patiently answered all ouf our questions regarding the band. His staff also did an excellent job in explaining the what is next and financial options. Office consultations were given that very night so no waiting if you wanted an appointment. I was a little discourage regarding the program fee of $1200 but payment arrangements can be made.
This fee includes:
Nutritional eval, letter 6 post op visits
Exercise eval, letter, 6 post op visits
Psych evaluation, letter, 3 post op visits
Pre Op Class, Program Book 24/7, access by phone/email
Fill at no cost first 90 days and after 90 days regular office co-pay if you have insurance.
The initial fee is $200 prior to your consultation with all of you initial paperwork, (then leaving a balance of $1000) but I guess that is a small price to pay for one's health.( Gosh I have to cut back on my chinese take out potato chips, butter pecan ice crea and fries from McDonalds OMG . ) But that money go towards the after care program and support group to help us on our journey to weight loss success. My consultation with Dr. V is scheduled for Feburay 23, 2007. I am excited and hopeful. I know that he is the surgeon for me.
I feel good about Southeast Bariatrics and Dr. V. I know I am making the right choice. God is with me. I am doing the dance ya'll woho!!!!!!
Thank you so much for your post. I do feel good about this choice. I posted the same on the General Lap band Forum and a few people felt that I was not getting a quality surgeon. I feel very encouraged from your post.
I read your profile you have been through much but you are still here and that is a blessing. Thank you again and take care.
Hi Hope- I just wanted to chime in... I am going w/Dr. V as well, for a VSG not Lap-Band, but I too was impressed by the seminar, his willingness to answer all my questions, and his AWESOME staff who never seem to get tired of my emails. (i am doing a 6-month dr-supervised diet per insurance), so I have been dealing w/them for a few months. I wonder why people mentioned to you that he was not a 'quality surgeon'??? In my investigations, he and his practice are 100% bariatric which is a heck of alot more experience than the surgeon here in Raleigh that I saw who does general surgery (gallbladders, etc.) as well. I think you've chosen a TOP-NOTCH bariatric surgeon, and a top-notch staff as well. good luck on your consult, I can't wait to get approved for the VSG!!!! take care- Stefanie
Dr. V did RNY on me almost 2 years ago and I still go to the monthly support group meetings and learn something new each time. You have chosen the "best" surgeon for anytype of bariatric surgery and his staff are all knowledgable and most have had the surgery also. I love Dr V!!! He gave me my life back!!!
