Got My date
After the ordeal with Aetna posted earlier, I switched my insurance this year to UHC. I called on the 3rd of Jan. 2007; they approved it on the 5th of Jan. My doctor called and my date is scheduled 16th. I actually cried when the insurance company told me I was approved; I'm so excited and can not believe that the time is finally here.
So word for the discouraged, where there is a will there is a way....look carefully at your insurance option when you have the opportunity to switch.
Hey Bobby,
I have the same surgery date JAN 16 ! Im so excited and yes nervous just like you.
I had all my pre-ops done yesterday I never heard of getting a filter put in for blood clots but every doctor is differnt. My surgeon told me yesterday that he doesnt do the drain tube either so I was so relieved about that and also NO Leak Test after surgery the next day like some surgeons do because he said he takes care of all that during surgery so thats awsome news. I cant wait to start this new journey so lets get a seat on the losers bench together WOO HOO!!!
Good luck to you and lets me know how your doing.
God Bless Denise
It's a deal! This is a very exciting & scary time for my family and I, my wife is also in the works for her RNY, but she is 6 months or so behind me in the process. She is scared to sick that something is going to happen to me. I catch her crying every now and again for no reason, she told me she is very scared for me.
My mother is coming up Monday to be with her throughout the process. I know there is risk to every surgery, but I have tried to do my best to re-assure her that everything is going to be ok, but I'm scared too just can't let her know.
I have had to write letters I thought I would never have to write in case something does go wrong, but I know if I go on at this weight I will not be around long to enjoy the time god has given me.
I will say a prayer for you and your family, that all goes well.
Well I just got home after visiting with my surgeon and the hospital staff as well as doing all my blood work needed for the surgeries. I go in tomorrow morning at 7 am for the filter surgery leave here at 4:30 am to be there by 6am; and then back on Tuesday for the RNY.
Is it just me or does the hospital documentation scare the crap out of you? Every other line is about death of their documentation, I understand they are covering their butts, but really, I understand the risks enough already. Thank god my wife didn't want to read any of them.
We meet with all of the staff who will be doing the surgeries and they seem like a well run/tight-nit group of professionals, so that defiantly helped my wife's nerves and mine as well.
Wish me luck all, I will post once I'm up and around some point during this weekend. I also wanted to thank everyone for the response and support it defiantly helps talking with those who have already been through it.
PS Surgery is scheduled for 1:30m pm EST so Tuesday is going to be a long day.
Hey Bobby, just wanted to wish you lots of luck on your big day and know that we will all be thinking about you. I go in on Jan 16 at 7:30 AM YIKES so I guess I will be in and out before you. Well, you will be in there before you know it so stay calm and know your doing the right thing. Take Care and God Bless
Denise
