Found out earlier this week the company I work for may be closing soon. They could close the end of this week, the end of this month or in the next few months. Nobody really knows what is going on. I wasnt worried previously because I could collect unemployment and work a 2nd job but yesterday that if the company closes or files BK then I lose Cobra benefits. Since I just had surgery 3 weeks ago I cannot afford to not have health insurance right now. If I leave and find another job I can keep the cobra here until they close but most places make you wait 90 days until you get their benefits. Just feeling very stressed lately. This is the worst time to start a new job since I am trying to figure out how to adjust to this new life. Also where I work now is casual dress. I have *no* professional clothes to wear to a new job and investing in some is basically a waste of money. I have a bunch of clothes from a few years ago but it will take me another month or two before I can fit into them. I am sitting here today at work and working on my resume (and being on OH of course!) so I can start applying for jobs today. Keep your fingers crossed for me that something works out!!! Im very sad to leave where I work because I enjoy my job and my co-workers... just cant keep sitting on a sinking ship and end up being stuck in the end

Jennifer - I am so sorry. I know it's hard being laid off. Not totally the same situation but I was being laid off by Wachovia. They sold my division and I was going to be out of a job come this Sept or Oct. I had mentioned to Dr. V that I would be looking for a job because he knows alot of people. Well now I work for him. So network get out there and network. Keep your head up and what is meant to happen will happen. If you want I might have some clothes that I was actually going to put on ebay dresses and such that no longer fit me. I would be happy to let you have some. Good Luck and keep that head up!!!!

Networking is always good Which is why I posted - maybe somebody knows of somewhere hiring. Right now I work at a financial company doing mostly reporting and data base work, I have experience in computer tech support (hardware and soft) as well as health insurance (benefits, claims processing). Im hoping to get into a drs office or the hospital... I sent off my resume about 70 times yesterday so hopefully something will pan out!
