Hey Everyone! Here it is almost 10:30 in the morning and no one has posted a good morning to you all! I wanted to take this opportunity to do it since I have not in a great deal of time. All you lurkers come out and tell us what is going on in your lives. Yes, I too am very quility of this. We had our monthly Gastonia Support meeting Monday night and ToniGirl was our guest leader...she was wonderful by the way, and had a nice group of 23 people!!! We would love to have any new people or oldies join with us next month on Monday August 7th. If you want further information about our group you can visit our website at www.gwlssupportgroup.com I will be one year out next month, on August 16th. It is so hard to believe it has been a whole year, boy time flys! My life has changed so much. I started out at 320 lbs. and now I am at 167 pounds at 5'8". I am below my surgeon's goal weight of 170-180 for the body mass to be considered a successful operation and I am now aiming for my own personal goal of 150 lbs. I am no longer diabetic, no longer have high blood pressure and no longer have as much pain, I always have some pain since I have fibromyalgia. My life has become so much better and I am not scared of other people looking at me now. Before I thought they were looking at me because I was so overweight and looked gross (in my mind). Now, I look right back at them and smile! I would run from a camera, which now I just !!! I have been able to start getting back into my pet grooming and pet sitting work, which I love, and also able to do so many things I could not do before...just imagine carrying around 153 pounds everyday...I had eaten Nancy, but now she is free!! My husband Michael had his surgery on February 13th of this year and is doing great! He was not as big starting out, and he has already lost over 80 lbs. and is looking great! ....He has taken a new position with his company and now travels Monday through Friday and before this surgery I don't think he could have handled it, but he is doing wonderful! So, come on out, let us know how you are and what part of your journey you are in. We need to try to light up this board. It is really slow lately and we need to be here for support to each other and also to give the pre-ops more hope for a new life. Have a blessed day! & Nancy

Good mo...afternoon, Nancy! It IS a slow day! Congratulations on your success and new lease on life! I hope I can experience the same success as you. My "stats" are almost the same as yours...I am also 5'8" and with my highest wt. being 307, I started pre-op at 302bs. Since my surgery on June 5th, I have lost 41 lbs. This am I weighed 261lb. My goal wt. is 165lbs. I love your statement, "I had eaten Nancy, but now she is free!" I can't wait to experience that same freedom! On another note, my sister-in-law, Paige, just had surgery this morning! She has been moved to her room and is doing well! I am soooo excited for her as well. I am going to go see her in the morning and walk the halls with her! Take care and have a great day! Susan

Hi Nancy I will be one year out on Friday July 14! I can not believe it has been a year, it has gone by so fast. I am 5'4" and start at 235 lb. I was on two blood pressure meds and my blood pressure has been as high as 210/160. I am happy to say that I am off all meds and it is under normal range without meds. I have lost 110lbs. I feel great and am able to do things that always so difficult before. I have started the Dunn Area WLS Support Group and so that others and myself can continue on this journey together! Have a great day! Connie

I am late, yes I know, a day behind, but yesterday was hectic and I didn't get a chance to check the boards. You have done so well Nancy. I agree the board is slow and I miss seeing some of the "old timers". Nothing is really new with me, other than my thyroid levels are out of range and the doctor has been working on those now for two months. I have faith that when they are "fixed" I will feel better(emotionally). That kind of thing kind of works on your nerves. I am down 144lbs. Haven't lost any in a couple of weeks, but I know it will pick back up. Hope to see everyone in August. I am starting school in August, so I will have to check to see when my classes start. Take care. Love, Angie
