My EGD is today at 3:30!!

I'm scheduled to have my EGD done today, and not only am I nervous but it's lunch time and I'm hungery and haven't had anything to eat. Has anyone had the Endo done? What can I expect afterwards, and how long before I can eat? I know I will be sleepy afterwards.

Hi there. I would like to know the same thing. That is the only test that I have to take. When are you having your surgery. I was told, that test is done right before surgery. I would like to know. Thanx a

Hi Angela, Well my EGD went without a catch, the last thing I remember is the nurse telling me to swallow the medicine she sprayed in my throat and the next thing I remember is waking up in recovery, I was there for 45 minutes and then they discharged me, my mom and daughter were able to come into the recovery room with me. I ate a slice of cheese pizza when we left the hospital. No sore throat or anything!!! My doctor was great he explained what they were going to and then went and told my mom and daughter, I guess it gave me time to get asleep? really don't remember much! I know I was scared of the not knowing so don't worry, I know everyone's experience is different but I thinik you will be fine.
