GOOD MORNING NC
Yuk Sara! I'm so sorry this is happening right now. I now you don't need it! UGH!! As far as I know, the Gal bladder surgery is not that bad, but you will not be lifting and moving ANYTHING! My youth guy had it out on Friday and was at church that Sunday. Some people do real well, others have a bit more pain. I don't think it's anything like the WLS though! Mine was taken during WLS so I can't speak from personal experience. Keep us posted!

I had WLS in January 2004 and my gall bladder went bad and I had to have mine removed in December of 2004. It wasn't bad at all. Mine was done out patient and I was sore for a few days and then back to normal.
I knew mine was bad because any time I ate I would have lots of pain that was up high and radiated into the back like my kidneys were hurting. The pain started out just annoying and got progressively worse as the gall bladder got worse off. By the time I had it out the pains would put me in the floor crying.

Aight.. the gallbladder surgery ain't nuttin, girl. They do it laparoscopically outpatient, you go in, they yank it out, you go home a couple of hours later. No biggie. They also send u home with pain meds if you need them. You can expect to be sore for a few days but nothing like the WLS.
When mine went bad, I had this doubling over pain, that lasted for like two hours, made me sick and throw up...then went completely away.
For months I had nothing at all and then all of a sudden, twice in one week the same drama. I had my choice, either take it out now or do it later, when it happens again. Given those odds, I said, take it!!
If you don't have any pain, I'd say wait till u get where you're going and if you need to have it taken out later, that's fine.
Hope this helps.
