Hey there.....I had the WLS on 3/10/05 and have lost 227lbs so far and my Dr. said that I have about 70+ lbs to be taken off of my belly. My question is has anyone here ever had medecaid to pay to their panny (skin) removal? And if so what all did you have to do....I have one Dr. saying that it is not covered by medecaid....please!!! help.... Thanks Cissy

Medicaid does pay for a panni I don't have all of the info in front of my now . . . but I do know that if you have a hernia they will do it. Some other things are rashes, odors. I was advised that you should document all of these things back pain . . go to a chiropractor . . Obgyn problems having sex and such. I will get the info and e-mail you if no one responds. Phenom

YES, medicaid does over it. I had mine removed this past November 2005. The doctor took photos and did all the work. All I had to do was recover from the minor operation..hehe. Good luck to you!!

I have heard that the UNC burn center would be willing to take it off for some people if you donate it for burn victims. YOu may want to call. Lisa

Sorry... I am pretty sure that is a myth. The skin involved is not the best skin. We need it removed for a reason. It has lost all of its elasticity. It is fairly easy to get it approved with the help of a really good plastic surgeon's office. They will usually do everything for you.
