It's Time to Shop....
I'm only 4 weeks post op - everything is way to big, when I was bigger I wore my clothes looser, because i don't like tight stuff on my fat rolls.
Now it's all too big. I need pants. I'm not sure if I'm in a MIsses because I hate to have to get plus again.
Any shopping suggestions. The goodwills around me do not have the styles that appeal to me. I was gonna shop Kohls and Old Navy tomorrow. I just want something that fits now. Even if it's only for a few weeks. Especially with htis crazy weather.
I'm very please that most of the weight is burning from my big belly.
Hey Jennifer!
I went to Target the other day and they have some nice stuff on clearance...I got a real nice pair of low riding stretch jeans for 17.98, and I like them, but I think they are already getting too big! Size 16! OMG...how cool is that. You are lucky that you got to have your surgery at a lower weight, if I had known what I do now, I would have had is sooner...I started out at 320! And my health problems were just getting worse and worse. I wish I could have gotten all of this weight off before I developed the arthritis in my spine...but I think you know about back pain, from your profile, stuff I read. You started out just about like my hubby Michael. He was just at 40 BMI...he is already down around 40lbs...and all his stuff is getting too big! Bless his heart..he had a rough time there and had Dr. B really concerned. He is still not able to get in as much as he should, or do as he should. And he too has really mourned over his comfort foods! I think it is harder to just give up your foods like ya'll did. When you have to do pre-op liquids I think it helps prepare you a bit more for the mental as well as the physical, eventhough it is a pain in the butt!
Oh well...they do have a clothing exchange here on OH and also, I shop off Ebay...you can get some really nice stuff for low, low prices, some still new with tags! Check it out!
Take care..I am off to
Nancy
Thanks nancy following your story is a real inspiration too. I am sorry michael is having a rough time, but he's a strong guy and he will get through it. It seems like you two are a team. Even though my husband didn't have surgery I always say we went through the surgery process together. I love him so much. He was fortunate to have the drive and discipline to loose his weight through the atkins diet. He's never had any i'll side effects from the weight loss. After he completed this he be gan to go to the gym on a regular basis and he began lifiting weights and body building he is hot and he's all mine. Everyone we see comments on how great he looks and he's flattered.
It would be funny if we got together my husband is a diehard steelers fan, WE are yankee transplants form NY but we've gotta have our steelers. That night at North East Medical I wish I knew it was you because I would have loved to chat with someone. I realized it after I can home and read the board that michael was admitted.
I started out at 243 and now I'm 213 so I have lost 30 pounds and I want to get some apporporate clothes that fit. I realize this is going to get expensive. I too will shop at the clearence wracks like I do for my daughter whose fives. I gotta get some bra's toom, Maybe I'll go to the mall today if Chloe feels ok. She's been vomiting and stuff. I might check outo lane bryant too, I usd to love them then I didn't have money to shop anymore. I am thankful I don't have to dress up for work because them I"d have to buy expensive clothes for them to wear.
we have several nice consignment shops here and I have bought most of my 'new' clothes there...I didn't like what I saw at Goodwill, just like you, but the consignment shops have nice things... I haven't bought anything truly new except a couple of bras and some workout stuff for Jazzercise.
