I am so on the verge of losing it. I have done fine til today. I am so tired of having upset stomach and feeling lousy. I am so hungry and I still have a week and two days to go before soft foods. I get sick just looking at sf jello and pudding, I can't get my protein shakes down and the broth or boullin cubes are fine. Is it enough if I just do water and crystal light and of course the protein shakes? I cant add things to my shakes like fruit. I keep ?ing what have I done and does it get any easier once you can eat again. God, I need some major prayers. I know that it was the right thing to do, I have lost 32 in less then 3 weeks, but I have more what ifs now then I did before or during surgery. I have almost gave in soooo many times just today. HEEELLPPP!!! Also, do you eat or drink till you fill full when on liquid diet or do I need to measure and just do 1 to 2 oz, which is probably all I can do now but still have hard time deciding between full and pain.

Lisa, Take a deep breath. This is normal. I had a lap rny 2/22 - I was fine for a few days, but I went bonkers by 1 week post op. Drinking shakes, making shakes, drinking shakes, water, crystal light wasn't good to me, i hated the taste. I did not have stomach issues, so I recommend calling dr lowe and seeking guidance for this stomach issue. Dr b had me well prepared, i have a nasuea patch and pills, even my pain mediciation had neasua medicine in it. I think you just need some guidance along to work out this bump. Maybe your dr can recommend a drink or special way of eating that's worked for others. My issues were more mental, I lost the desire to whip up a shake. I wanted to avoid the protien shakes at all cost. My best friend my husband is encouraged me and tried help as much as he could. I find it exhausting on the soft foods to keep eating 6 times a day. I don't call them meals because cheese sticks aren't meals. I eat until the reflex in my throat tells me I have eaten wrong and it's coming back up, or if I swollow and it hurts, or if I eat too fast. I'm learning this whole thing. I drink all the time. I cannot go with out my H20. Lisa if your comfortable enough speaking with me. please email me maybe we could talk about some of the oh my it's gross questions. I'd love to talk with you because i'm 3 weeks out and things are FUNKY! my email is [email protected] please reach out. i'm struggling wiht the whole mental thingie wiht not eating.

Hello I had to post to this because I felt a strong need to.........I measured my liquids out when I was on my liquid diet. I felt I ate the most when I was on the purreed part of my diet the third week out. If you are having issues now wait til you can eat regular food again. To me is very hard and I am kind of in the boat with you. I hate feeling lousy if something does not go down right or etc. So you are not alone in any part that you spoke of...... it is one day at a time. Hugs Charla

Since I am pre-op, I dont have any advice, Lisa. I just wanted to add a little support to the mix. Anyone who has this procedure done is seven kinds of brave and determined. You are gonna be ok. Lisa L.

I still don't eat til I'm full because if I get to that point, I'm miserable. I eat what is a very small moderate portion, and can only do 4 to 6 oz of protein shake at a time, so don't get stressed out. I know it is tough, but it is SO worth it. I still eat using a baby spoon and when I fix my meals, I use small desert plates and the little condiment cups that you get at restaurants. It's just the right size. Crystal Light is my best friend - especially the Peach Tea. Each day will get better and better, I promise. Hang in there, Lisa!! Nancy H
