Moving to Wilmington, NC

Hi all - I'm going to be moving to Wilmington, NC at the end of the month. I wanted to know if there are any support groups in the area. I haven't had my surgery yet but have almost completed my 3 month observation through Aetna. Since I don't know too much about the WLS community in Wilmington, I'm going to keep my surgery to be done in VA. Is anyone familiar with the surgeons in the Wilmington arear and/or the facilities?

Glenda - thanks for the welcome! How was your experience with Dr. Harris? Once I get settled, I'm going to plan on coming to the support group meeting. Do you know what the upcoming topics are?

Hi Tonya - I had my surgery by Dr. David Miles and his support groups are the first Wednesdays of every month (except July - it fell on the 4th so we're skipping) at 6:30 pm at Cape Fear Hospital. I have been to both groups and everyone is very nice and helpful. Good luck with your journey. Denise
