Gastonia Support Group

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say I was really glad to meet everyone tonight at the Support Group and I am so sorry I had to leave early. Everyone was wonderful to meet and I can't wait to come to my next meeting post-op! I really enjoyed listening to your discussions. I am a little nervous still about the surgery but seeing you guys and talking to Pat and everyone really helped. Thanks again for inviting me Nancy! Shannon

Christie, It was wonderful to meet you too. Your smile is as sweet in person as in your pictures. We are the newbies to the group but I loved it because I really did learn alot just by meeting other people who had or were having WLS. I am glad you were able to bring your Michael with you. My husband Michael will be a the next meeting. I hope everything goes wonderfully for you and I will think of you on 7/3!!! Shannon

Hey Christie! I am so glad that you and your hubby Michael were able to come last night. It is always nice to meet new people starting their journey. You are such a sweetie and have the most beautiful eyes and smile! I hope Michael feels a little bit better since the meeting about WLS. There were a good many people who could not come last night, and I hope they will be there in July. I will be praying for a positive "YES" from Aetna for you! Let us know, and I hope that we will be seeing you on the losing side in July! you! Nancy

Hiya Nancy! It was wonderful to finally meet you! I have to say you're even more beautiful than your picture. Thanks for everything you do to make the meetings so informative. Michael did get a lot out of hearing everyone talk, and I loved it!!! I can't wait till July. My surgeon's office called today and said we should be hearing from insurance any day now, so maybe I'll be on the loser bench soon! Hugs!!! Christie

Oh...you are making me blush! My picture on here was in March, so I have changed a little since then. I am glad you enjoyed the meeting and what wonderful knews....I have my fingers and toes crossed for you that you get a YES!!! Keep me posted! Nancy

Hey Shannon! I am so glad you were able to come to our meeting last night...even if we did get a slow start due to being locked out, and traffic from Charlotte ....You are a very sweet lady and I will be sending up positive thoughts and prayers for you next week. I know several people (2 are members of our support group, just not there last night) that had Dr. Lowe and they both did great with no problems what-so-ever. If you want to contact them, they are both on OH, Jeff Williams, and Sarah Spain. It is normal to be scared and nervous, but next year, when you look back, you will think, man I should have done this sooner! Hope to meet your Michael next month. Mine won't be able to be there, he will start his new position at work in a few weeks and have to travel M-F and only home on weekends .... ya! Nancy

Hey Nancy, You sure do look diffferent from your March picture.I think I came to the support group in March (because I couldn't get off work on the Monday in April, then the May meeting was cancelled. I was thinking a lot about that the next time I was on the Web site - how much people do look so vey different in a fairly short period of time. I have been having a tough time of my own image. I don't feel or think I look very different, but so many people comment so often how much better I look. And some of the things Larry covered at the meeting struck a chord or two.
