Hi everyone, I know no one else will be excited about this, BUT, I had Wendy's chili for dinner. It was delicious. I could only eat 1/3 of a small but it was very good. It also set well. I really have been fortunate that everything I have tried thus far has done well. Last night we grilled lean hamburger's and I ate about 1/4 of a burger with cheese. It sat very well in my little pouch. Thanks for listening, I was just really excited to have some real food!!!! Pat

Congrats, Pat! I'm sure it's nice to find something that tastes good and sits well (and is the same thing that "regular" people eat ). I'm happy for you! Susan

Hello Pat, I am so gald food is setting well for you, I also had very little trouble. I remember telling you that a Wendys small chilli lasted me 3-4 meals, funny thing before surgery it looks like such a small amount of food but after surgery it looks like a ton I also have grilled burgers, with a little cheese lots of protein , and I tried pork BBQ on Monday , I smoked a Boston Butt , it was so good. As the weeks pass you will find you can add stuff that makes a big difference. Jamie and I are trying chicken wings this weekend for the first time post op, we both love them so a quick trip over to Quaker Steak , I figure we can eat maybe three wingletts each , but still the taste will be wonderful. There is a place in Matthews that has wings for .35 cent each, Gavin told us we could both eat on a dollar each and have take home doggie boxes LOL. Have a great weekend, I hope your Momma is doing better. Allison

Hey Pat!...you sound so cute...I don't mean that in a condescending way at all...I remember that feeling of relief and excitement when I realized I was actually going to enjoy food again (after the liquids and the first few days after surgery), but the quality not the quantity. I've found that I really like ground turkey now...I never did before surgery...and I'm sooo glad I can eat eggs okay...I love stir fry beef sauteed w/ cut up red bell pepper scrambled in an egg. I eat a little of that w/ half of a low carb wrap for breakfast now. You have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pat - I know exactly how you feel!! When I first had Wendys chili I was so funny - it was almost like it was the best thing I had ever eaten Just ate a 1/3 of a banana last night for the first time and I thought I was in heaven Now every time I eat something new and it agrees with me I am so excited.
