Has anyone had wls at womack hospital?
I just had surgery on March 10 2006 at Womack, my surgeon was Dr. Hiles. The first thing you would need to do is get with your primary care physician and talk with them about the surgery and they have to refer you for the surgery.
My overall experience has been good. You can attend the group support meetings every month, they are held once a month on the third tuesday of the month at the hospital in the weaver auditorium at 5:30. I go every month, i really enjoy them, you can learn lots of stuff. it is for pre and post op patients. There is a meeting tuesday coming up. Try to make it if you can.
If i can help any other way, please feel free to contact me.
take care.

Hi Stacy
I had surgery at womack in Sept 05. Dr Amy Olsen did it. Right now only Dr Hiles is doing them. I am one of the post op nurses there as well. I was a lap converted to an open. I have had a couple minor set backs, but not because of the surgery itself. I have gotten dehydrated once. I have also had problems with nausea. Would I do it again? Yes, in a heartbeat. I am here if you need anything.
