It was from the pre-admission people.
They confirmed the date, scheduled me for some last minute pre-op blood work and reminded me that after the 4th, it's all boost and water.
I would point out that the call it about a week earlier than they told me it would be - originally they indicated that I should not expect a call before the first of November. They said they call one spot at a time and only as they are locked in.
Your slot might not be down in ink yet - I wouldn't worry. :)
what did they say? what day do you start the shakes? no call yet... :(

That's really fantastic news. Congratulations!
I'm less than a month out from surgery now and hearing your news is just what I needed to hear.

I've been where you are.
I was originally given the reference by my doctor in April of 2010. I waited, I waited and I waited. I called the clinic a few times and they said I wasn't even on the horizon yet.
And then I gave up - I was profoundly angry. I was supposed to wait for three years and after three years I wasn't even on the list yet. I pushed this out of my mind and tried to go back to loosing wait conventionally, where we have all failed before.
They called me in June and I'm having surgery in about three weeks. Once you get the first call from them, the time rockets by you.
I won't tell you to be patient as that would be unfair - it's hard to be patient for years at a time. Live your life, keep checking with the clinic and keep in mind that the call will come.

They called me on Thursday (I think) and confirmed the date.
It's a whole new ballgame...
So it will be three months tomorrow since my VSG surgery in Moncton. I must say this has been quite a learning experience. So far I have lost 72 pounds which is just amazing to me. I will admit that I have struggled with getting the proper amounts of protein and water in each day but I am trying to make more of an effort to eat and drink more each day. So far I think I am pretty much on track to hopefully reach my goal weight within the year...to anyone who is still waiting for surgery...I know all too well how difficult the wait is however it will be 100% worth it in the end!! I am so grateful to have this new lease on life :)

Hi, I am doing ok - Thanks! It's a month since surgery and I don't think I've lost very much but I'm focusing on protein & water. I fear I may be eating too much but I'm doing what I can and I'm sure the dietician will give me feedback when I see her in November. I'm probably not exercising as much as I should either but I didn't expect to become this super active person all the sudden either haha. I guestimate I have lost 30 pounds since I started boost.. so I'll take it :)
Me too!!! Can't wait....I counted and if all goes well...We can have a little bite of turkey....lol
