How long after your consult was your surgery or do you know how long of a wait it is from the consult to surgery?
Almost 6 months out from VSG to DS revision, down another 67 lbs. Leg swelling is under control and it was actually a fissure, not hemmeroids and that is better too so I'm feeling pretty happy with my choice. Now if the Telogen Effluvium would just stop!!

I had to wait 7 years for my surgery. I really just put it out of my mind and focused on getting as healthy as I could on my own. I started swimming and walking. It is really hard when you do the work and the weight does not come off, but when you get to surgery you will recover that much better. Exercise is so good for mental health as well.
One day at a time, one step at a time.
I had my surgery in Moncton and I had to wait 7 years. Put the wait out of your mind and do what you can to make your life better now. By the time you get the call you will be prepared to make the further changes in your life.
Nine months after surgery and I feel like a new person, but I will never forget how tired I was at 245.5 lbs. I now weigh 155.4 and I am almost to my goal of 145.
RNY has changed my life forever!
It is really so easy to follow and lose the weight. One word of advice for anyone waiting for surgery. Your first 6 months are critical because your weight loss does slow down after that. When I went to see Dr. Theriault for my 9 month check up she said that I would continue to lose slowly for about another 6 months or so. I only have 10.4 lbs to go to reach my goal of 145 and I am confident I will get there with ease.
Thanks so much for that perspective, it really helps me appreciate the timing of events. All the best!
I met Dr. Beausoliel in November 18, 2016, had the all day session on September 5, 2017, signed my consent October 16, 2017, go for pre-op December 18, 2017 and, finally, January 16th, 2018 for surgery. In the information session we were told that most of us would be waiting 8-10 months, with 2-3 exceptions. I was one of the largest in the class, so I guess I was one of those exceptions. It is a long wait, but hopefully well worth it.
Hi!
I have been on the wait list for 6 years and I finally had my consult in April 2017. I was told from that time it would be another 6 months for sessions (dietician, counseling, etc.) to prepare and then another 6 months till surgery. I called yesterday to update my contact information and I was told it would be April 2018 at least before I got into the sessions to prepare. So all said and done, I've been waiting 7 years!
I have Lupus and it affects my joints so I am hoping this surgery will aliviate some of that pain. I suffer from extreme fatigue too. Some days I can barely function.
I am currently on Weigh****chers trying to lose on my own to prepare. It is the hardest thing I have ever done and I am taking it one day at a time. I only walk for exercise but right now I am just focusing on eating good foods.
I've struggled with my weight for the last 10-15 years.

I was also in the 4hrs session with you. I'm the only one left in the session to get surgery. Kim is going under today and the other lady came out of the hospital yesterday. Can't wait for my turn !!
How is your loss going ? Any issues with food ?
