you are all doing great thank you for sharing with us your journey of weight lost
It's not only about the scale but how you feel inside and the way you reach new goals in life and making you feel like a new person inside and out so keep up the good work and soon we all be as happy as you are and reach new goals of our own.
started my shakes today they are not to bad I don't mind the taste of the chocolate one having the vanilla for lunch I see how that one is any body know what could be added to improve the taste if I have to?
You are doing great. I admire your weight loss and how fast the scale is moving for you!
Contrats on your NSV's they made me smile too and start thinking of some of my own changes/NSV's recently
I'm looking forward to baths some day too and haven't had one in years for the same reason!
I've started shaving my legs more often and using a nice body wash
I bought makeup and started using if for the first time in 10 plus years
today I bought a watch and I haven't worn a watch in years because I had no wrists and hated the way any jewelry looked on my fat arm
I have a lot more room between me and the steering wheel
I fit into all my clothes that I grew out of so from here on out I'm going to have to buy new clothes.
This feels so amazing.
I hope everyone gets to experience this for themselves soon!

lol @ finding one that isnt creepy, made me laugh :)
congrats at your success so far, you are doing great
Hey Vanessa, my friend and I were there together, and her date was a little behind me as well, so hopefully it will be soon :D, I called around the last week of feb and they told me the same thing, they actually told e 6-10 months, I was starting to get so discouraged, and then all of a sudden I got a call for my surgery date It was totally unexpected, so hopefully being in the same session, you will be getting your call very soon
Your very welcome and such a great idea... I know for me when the scale isn't moving like I want it to, I do get a little discouraged but then I remind myself that it is going to move eventually and I will be where I want to be soon enough.. I weigh myself once a week.. every Monday.. But I know when I start to stall I will have to weigh once a month so I don't get upset..Here's to the future.. :)
Thanks Lesley. I also post these to remind myself of how far I have come. I find it very hard to digest because the scale doesn't move very fast for me and I need to concentrate on the non-scale differences. Sometimes I get very discouraged when the scale doesn't move (the reason I am only weighing about every 3-4 weeks is to not be addicted to the scale and put myself in a negative mind set).
I remember when I was waiting for surgery I found that when people posted their non-scale victories it gave me vision as to what my future would look like.
You just put a huge smile on my face.... I am so proud of you!!! You have done so amazing and its so wonderful to hear your progress.. Thank you so much for sharing, you have given me even more inspiration to get to where I need to be as well!! Congrats to you
So I thought I would list a couple of non-scale victories:
Bubble Bath's: before surgery I only showered because I know that I would have gotten stuck in the tub. I can now have bubble baths and nothing touches the sides of the tub.
Clothing: down 8 sizes in jeans
Walking: when I am not having mobility issues (due to a medical issue) I can walk unaided and faster. Walking the dog is fun.
Flirting: a lot of flirting from men in the past few weeks. Now just to nail one down that isn't creepy
Food Choices: I read food labels of almost everything I pick up off a shelf and if it doesn't have the magic numbers it goes right back in it's place. The chocolate eclairs that Superstore is selling have been calling me but I go and look at them in the case and can quickly decide that they aren't for me and it isn't even painful..lol.
Restaurants: I am cooking and eating at home much more often now. I get very overwhelmed in restaurants because of the quantities of food that is served and I find that I just don't enjoy it as much (maybe a little bit of anxiety on my part - afraid of eating too much). When I do go out to eat I usually will share a plate with my dining partner (thank goodness they are understanding but we also split the bill and they get the leftovers). My one big beef about restaurants is that I really wish they would have a small plate selection and that there were a healthier appetizers offerings.
Money : I have sold quite a few of my larger sized clothing and have made some pretty good bucks doing so. Last week I made $100 by selling the last bits of my larger size clothing.
Appearance: I am taking better care of my appearance. Make up, manicures, and clothing...wonder why when I was heavier I didn't take the time to be good to myself?
These are the latest post-op victories to go along with: able to bend over and tie my shoes/shave my legs and paint my toenails, the thigh gap (the girls will relate to this one), being able to shop in almost any clothing store now, people that I know don't recognize me and when it clicks in I get a lot of praise on how good I am looking (I feel like a fame ***** on this one).
