I am curious. I had first meeting with Dr. Beausoleil in June and was told to expect anywhere from 9-12 months before the surgery. Is the wait time the same with Dr. Savoie??
i have waited almost 10 years to get that far. i meet with the anesthetist on july 15. info session isnt an info session ... its your preop bloodwork, chest xray, pulmenary tests etc ... you will need a sleep apnea test too, so be pro active and book that.
i hope my is soon, dec is way to long. hoping for august
Congrats to my beautiful sister!!!! I can not wait for you to start this journey. I know you have been waiting a long time but you will be so happy with the outcome that the waiting will mean nothing to you when it is all done!!!! I can attest to that.... 204 lbs gone (100 on my own) you will feel fantastic! I love you big time... And will support you 100% of the way!!!!
Hi there - my husband had a VSG with Dr. Joya last May (2013|)| in Puerto Vallarta. He has done very well. I have copied and pasted a post I made the day after his surgery - I went with him. Worth every cent - has added years to his life - no more CPAP, back pain almost nil etc etc.

HOLA! My husband had a VSG with Dr. Joya here at the Amerimed Hospital in Puerta Vallarta yesterday.
He is doing fantastic - no pain at all, had some nausea and urging a bit last night - but got some medication for that - and for the most part slept fairly well. He went into the OR at 1445 hrs yesterday - Dr. Joya called me at 1600hrs to tell me my husbands surgery went fine and he would ne two hrs in recovery. (The norm). Sure enough - at 1800hrs he was back in his room. He was up to go to the washroom and for a short walk around 9pm. Today he is doing well - down for his leak test at 1100hrs - passed - now taking ice chips and water. Has had a shower and a few walks. Dr. Joya has been in to see him, the psychologists has been in, the nurses have changed his small bandages twice - once early am - and then again after he showered as they got wet and started to fall of a bit. He still has an IV - but that will probably come out later this afternoon.
So far - from the fellow who met us at the airport - to the driver - to the staff at the Sunset Plaza Hotel - to people on the street that we talked to to ask where an ATM or a market was - to the staff here at Amerimed - I could not ask for any better. We expect me husband will be discharged tomorrow around noon and then we will spend the remaining two days in Puerto Vallarta back at the Sunset Plaza - which is awesome by the way!
Just wanted to post this here as I know when I was a pre-op and planning and deciding - ANY information like this was so important to me!

has anyone had their surgery by him in Fredericton yet? My Dr. sent my referral to him a little over a year ago and I got a call from his office on Friday! I was told 5-6 Years and I might get that call. His receptionist said I had to go in to be assessed and get info from the office. I don't think I'm actually seeing him at this appointment. July 23rd! EEK I'm kind of scared! I have no idea what to expect from his office. Anyone know?
A friend of mine did via Weightloss forever about a year ago and she said it was awesome, they were really good with her and she had nothing bad to say about the experience. I have thought about that option but I just cant afford it.
I put a 1 or 2 oz in a water bottle with crystal light and I have my camper at beausejour camp ground in shediac it's only 10 minutes from home but still feels like camping and if the weather gets bad like today we can go home and if we want to go after work we are not to far away.
I tried to start one years ago, but folks lost interest after a couple of meetings. I would love to attend.
