that is such awesome news. you have done great. you are prob all done surgery or just about by now.
it's great you didnt cheat. if you dont stick to the diet before hand and your liver doesnt shrink enough (one of the purposes of the pre diet shakes) they will close you up and send you on your way, surgery free, at lease that is what my dr. told me. so it sounds like you will prob not go home early lol
yes I am ok with it. Itoriginally wanted an rny, but he said a vsg. Then I had a scope and some biopsies and tests done and he advised I had a significant reflux and hernia that needed to be repaired. And that there was a bit of damage from the reflux. He then said the only surgery he couls do was the RNY. We talked about it and I am ok with it. He is fixing everything and assured me I wouldnt have anymore pain or issues with that again. I know about the rny and am prepared for it. Can't wait to get this show on the road!...Ry you are going soon! So exciting I am so happy for you...cant wait to hear how you are doing!

So got a little thrill when I look in my boxes of protein bars and realized I only have enough left for two days! I got stuffed up this evening and freaked out thinking I was getting a cold. The nurse said that they won't do the surgery even if you are just stuffed up from a cold! But then my daughter left the room and it seems to be clearing now. Think it was just allergies from something perfumy she was wearing. Whew! Wouldn't want to go through all this and have to postpone the surgery! So proud of myself...for the first time, I am controlling what I eat and not the other way around! I didn't cheat at all through the preop shake prep.

Are you ok with that? Did you want the sleeve? Did he explain why he wants to do that one over the sleeve?
Signed off all my paper work today. Met with Monique and Dr. B and all went well...even had a surprise of losing 9 lb.'s from my last visit. So now waiting for the surgery date! Has anyone here had an RNY? How different is the recovery, I know I am in the hospital a day longer after surgery.

Thanks Lesley! Three more days, then I'm off to Moncton! So done with chocolate and being hungry all the time!!
