Topic: RE: Staples out!

Congratulations, it's very freeing to get the staples out! Consider getting a script for a B12 shot and get your doctor's nurse (or if you have a nurse in the family like I do) to give it to you once a month. It's one less pill to take every day, it's not practical for everyone but I wanted to flag it as a possibility.

I haven't met Dr Savoie yet but I do have my first appointment with the nurse, dietician and psychologist a week from today.  Sounds like our journeys will be pretty close together and I wod also live to have someone to travel it with!!

What was that first appointment like?  Do you meet with all 3 at the same time?

yeah finally got my staples out. Dr b makes you wait three weeks because he said he used to do them at two weeks and found that the wounds opened up. So he waits three. Each point where the staples went in my skin was all red. But Monique said that it is normal because of how long they are in.  People who had other abdominal surgeries told me they would hurt coming out. But other than the odd little pinch they all came out without incident.

At this appt you also meet with the dietician. She goes over how you've been eating as well as prepares you for when you go on real food.  She also told me about all the supplements we have to take, multivitamins, calcium with vitamin d, vitamin b12, and an iron supplement.

Hey Chris,

Sounds like you are doing amazing, im SO Happy to hear about all your accomplishments especially when it come to your family, it truly is an amazing wonderful gift, that we have received. I know for me just being able to walk any distance with out almost dying, was one of the best feelings ever, now i can go on vacation with my friends and not worry about holding anyone back for anything, and I can play with my goddaughter, she can actually sit on my knee, I never imagined how it would feel to not be unhealthy, no i couldnt imagine not being healthy, my weight loss has slowed a bit, but its still coming off, better slow then not at all, and you are right , it was the best decision we could have ever made, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well !! Enjoy your meal as little as it may be :D
