Cool!! How long did you wait to for the preop testing? I am so anxious to get all of these appointments over before winter settles in! Are you from Moncton?
Hi Karasmom...I think we were at the info session together last Monday...I am meeting Dr. Savoie on Friday as well and returning the following week to see the anesthesiologist...
I am like you. I do really well on my own for a while and then the slide starts. I too have questioned whether or not surgery is the answer for me and I have come to the conclusion that the surgery will help prevent the slides.
I have met met the team and had the info session. I am meeting dr. Savoie on Friday.
I have been been doing okay on my own since the end of September but I find it such a struggle. I am eating healthy but get mad at myself when I eat too much. I think to myself if I can't do this now how will I be able to do it post op. I have to keep reminding myself that the surgery will give me the tool I need to succeed long term. I constantly hover between fear, apprehension, excitement, doubt and hope. It is such a roller coaster of emotion!
Going for my tests at the hospital on Monday then meeting the anesthesiologist on Nov, 13th in Bathurst...I started my weight loss journey, AGAIN, in August 2014 and have lost 36 lbs since and doing really well with the program. But I know myself...I have been been overweight for as long as I can remember and have started MANY diet programs where I did really good for the first few months and then I would lose motivation or just stop the program. What gets to me is close friends questioning why I want the surgery when I am doing so good with my weight loss right now...I hate it because it makes me question if I should do it or not.

I've been trying lots of things and haven't had too many problems. Even pizza dough is ok. I haven't tried real bread yet, but I would imagine it's all the same. The only problems I seem to have is with meat. It seems to take longer to get into my stomach so I have some discomfort for about a half hour after eating. Not quite pain, and I don't throw up from it. But it seems to happen even if I chew it to a pulp before swallowing. I also have trouble eating a meal over half an hour. There is such little food that it goes within ten to fifteen minutes at the longest. And even with that it's usually cold by the time I finish.
Has anyone else had problems like this? And when does it usually get better?
I travel from St. Martins (1 hr outside of saint John past the airport) and I travel to Bathurst. Now that's a drive 5 hours. PS I meet with the anesthesiologist on November 13th at 9:45 UGGG That means a 3:30 wake up call on the road by 4am lol . BUT I WOULDN'T CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD!! I understand you do it in Moncton but I'm wondering (I see allot of stuff from BIG CHRIS) does anyone have any idea when after you see the anesthesiologist that you have your surgery. Dr. Savoie said the end of November first of December BUT the ladies told me more like the first of January.
WOW you know a ton more than me. When I saw Dr. Savoie in September and he said end of November first of December for the surgery. When I went to the info session in September the ladies told me there not until the first of January. I think I believe them more, but my question is, once you see the anesthesiologist shouldn't you soon be ready? Like once your pre op is done I can't see them waiting for another 3 months. Wouldn't things have a potential to change "Health Wise"??So I guess its up in the air lol!!! Where do you go to? Bathurst?? DO you have Facebook? Add me Marianne Ferris Langille
the time is going to fly bye and soon you be on a new journey in life. Dr B is the best he changed my life for the best 125 pounds lighter and no more dietabetic pills for me.
