How did your sleep apnea affect your surgery ? Was there more preop testing? More post op care??
Hi Faith - I sent you a private message here on OH.
Mary
Blood was low - means your Hemoglobin - also referred to as Hgb - was low. Hgb is the oxygen carrying component of the red blood cell. Normal for a female of child bearing age is 120 to 140. So yes, disapointing - but a problem that needs to be investigated before surgery. You would not do well going into surgery with a Hgb that low. Good luck to you!
I got my call on Friday...I am starting the boost on Monday and surgery scheduled on December 1st....yay
Oh no!! You must have been so disappointed that yoursurgery is post-poned...however I am sure you will find some relief finding out why your blood is low. Thinking of you!!
