When was your referral?
Dr boisvert?
I was referred to fredericton in April. It took me a Long time to decide this was a route I wanted to go and in hindsight I Should have asked for referral months before I did - even while still considering. I'm convinced of the efficacy and benefits and I welcome the changes .... Looking forward to the phone call that will get things rolling
I see the post-op biochemical changes as the catalyst for weight loss more than the change in size of stomach.
So, I too am waiting and trying to be patient with the process!!
I had surgery in Moncton with Dr Beausoleil.
Don't remember exactly when my referral was but average wait in Moncton was 6-8 years I believe from consult to surgery. I know some patients might have more/less wait depending on health issues. Wait should be less now that a new surgeon has started in July.

We may have the surgery together Katyoung1. I was also referred to Dr. Boisvert in April of this year. Patiently waiting as well for the process to begin. I had asked to be referred back in 2012, but at that time I didn't think I would qualify. Now here it is 4 years later...should have just let it be....probably would be done by now. Oh well! My sister is in Alberta and just had an RNY completed back I November, that's what made me pursue this again. She has lost 85 lbs from start to now....very proud of her....
I have joined a closed FB page called Gastric Sleeve and Bariatric Surgery and the people on that site post allot of before and after pics. So if you are scared, this site is very encouraging and have allot of really great tips on what to eat, tips for gas, excess skin fixes etc. Allot of the food products are American but if you live in NB, hopefully you are close enough you can take trips over the border and purchase some of the stuff they post.
Maybe I'll see you around!
