Do people just like not post much anymore on here? I asked a question and there's a ton of views but no reply, kind of sad :(

I've noticed that too, so I don't typically post anymore. I was going to respond to yours but was pretty sure I'd replied privately in the past and didn't want to sound like a keener lol.

As far as exercise, I'm at the gym 29 out of probably 30 days, so not EVERY day but pretty much. I know that's not realistic for most but it works for me. I've had a personal trainer for the past year, again, not affordable for all but I'd highly recommend it if you can. Mine was a package that included weight loss / maintenance and fitness, so it wasn't just about showing me a workout but actively working out with me 4 days a week, giving me my work outs for the other 3 and also monitoring my weight. Having this accountability worked for me weigh-wise. I have the skills I need in the gym now, so will be moving into maintenance phase. I love doing interval walking / running on the trails on my days without the trainer. It's true what they say, finding something you enjoy is key.

I used to be more active posting on this board when I was pre-op but don't find it as relative post-op because the processes in Moncton have changed so much since I've had surgery.  Based on the views, there are lots looking for information but I can't offer an explanation, maybe people are shy? Take heart, I know people care and it's always great to hear updates from folks.

Thanks Cindy! :)

Yeah, I've posted quite a few times before too with no replies, so it's hard to keep coming back to post, but this is where I first started my journey almost 5 years ago so I still come take a peak once in awhile. I agree, post op most people tend to not stick around much as busy life and once you have things figured out, might not have much need to come over to check it out.

good job for going at the gym so much! i've never been to the gym, but after surgery (Feb-2012), i was doing lots of elliptical and stationary bike at home, at least 1 hr per day. but then i got pregnant and gained back 70 lbs!

i'm working out again at home, i finished 3 rounds of 21 day fix and waiting for my 2nd program to be delivered. with taking care of the kids during the day and working at night, i find workout at home is best right now  plus the programs are great and i love them!

I presume you've found the 21 Day Fix program effective if you've done three rounds and are getting a second program? I've been struggling this summer nutrition wise. My exercise is consistent, my food is not. My sister, who I live with, is having surgery with the new surgeon in Moncton on September 2nd and starts her two week shake program on August 18th and I was thinking of supporting her by doing shakes as well (and helping myself at the same time).

For some people, they get to goal quickly and have no trouble with maintenance but for me, it's a constant battle to maintain my loss and to continue to make progress. I find I'm still always looking for something to help keep me on track.

Yes I loved the 21 Day Fix program! the whole workouts plus the containers too! they have different categories which shows you how many containers to use based on bucket of calories you should follow. If you'd like more info on it, please send me an email to [email protected]  and i'll send you more info on it and our monthly challenge groups which is what has helped me keep accountable ! :)

I got discouraged posting here.  Lots of views, no replies.  I've since moved to Bariatric Pal for asking my questions and getting advice (though it seems most of the members are in the US and their process is different than here)  But that's alright, at least there I get replies! :)

Tom - I posted this on the wrong feed but meant it for you ....

When was your referral?

Dr boisvert?

I was referred to fredericton in April. It took me a Long time to decide this was a route I wanted to go and in hindsight I Should have asked for referral months before I did - even while still considering. I'm convinced of the efficacy and benefits and I welcome the changes .... Looking forward to the phone call that will get things rolling

I see the post-op biochemical changes as the catalyst for weight loss more than the change in size of stomach.

So, I too am waiting and trying to be patient with the process!!
