Hospitalized for low hemoglobin and iron

Hi everyone!  Over the Mother's Day weekend I got hospitalized.  I went to the Fredericton E.R.   with a killer mystery gut/ abdominal pain.  Surprise!  Hemoglobin was at 70 when should be floating around 135.  Had the scope down my throat to check my vertical sleeve, which I had done in Mexico in 2013.  Dr said the sleeve looked beautiful, but why is iron and hemoglobin so low?  After a failed blood transfusion to raise my number, I was given a massive dose of iron through interveinous.  Number went up to 83 and was released.  Now on high level of supliments for iron, b12, and D.

Anyone else have something like this happen after surgery?

No, but wishing you a speedy recovery!  If there wasn't anything wrong with the sleeve it makes me wonder if it was something else that caused it?  Are you on iron supplements every day now?
