Where do I start?

I live in Woodstock, NB and I'm wondering how I even start this process? Should I ask to be referred to the doctor in Fredericton? I don't even know their name. 

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! 

hi, you ask your doctor for a referral, I asked for a referral to Fredericton, Bathurst and Moncton...that way if one is further along than the others you'll get called quicker...lol

hi, I am also from Woodstock. I would contact your family Dr asap as they may require you to do some pre requirements before referring. The Dr on Fredericton is Dr Boiverst. Most family doctors are not familiar with him yet. 

Thanks! I'm without a family doctor but I hope to find one soon and get the process started. I know I have sleep apnea (I use a CPAP) and I heard they test for that. 

I also am a non smoker and I heard that will improve your wait time as you don't need to be smoke free for 6 months. 

Yes that will help for sure. He also goes by patient information not by date referred. So he hand picks his patients to speak. The process is very quick once.you get in to see him. Dr Macewain  at the hospital may be able to help you out too. :)

Hello All!

I've been on the waitlist with Dr Beausoleil (Moncton) for about a year now.  I called the other day and was told they are doing consults from referrals in 2010, but have stopped consults for this year as the info sessions have filled up for this year.  For this reason, I am having my doctor send my referral to Bathurst (Savoie or Semerjian) and Boisvert.  

I am looking for some feedback on wait times for the first call!  If my referral is sent this week, does anyone know approximately how long gthe wait is to see Dr. Boisvert?  I am really hoping it is less than 5 years, which is what I am looking at with Beausoleil.
