calories at 2 months post-op
Hi there...I'm about 7 weeks post-op and doing great so far. But I'm curious about the "normal" or ideal calorie intake at this stage. Lately I have been averaging about 700 calories a day. I have no trouble eating and could eat a little more (sometimes I do feel a little hungry at the end of the day but I try to not go too far over 700 because I don't want to sabotage my weight loss). I only chose to stick with 700 calories because most things I've read online suggest that 600-800 calories is about average for two months post op. I really don't know if eating more would be bad or not, but I do not want to screw this up in any way.
I should clarify that when I say I have no trouble eating, I don't mean that I feel like I could eat more in any one meal, my stomach definitely fills up fast. But then a few hours later I do feel hungry, especially about 3 hours after supper (when I have already consumed about 700 calories over the day). I'm not sure if I should treat this as "head hunger" and try to ignore it, or if my body really is telling me it needs a little more than 700 calories.
