still waiting.....

Got my call last July for consult, things moved along, had my pre-op blood work, consult with anesthician and teaching clinic all the way back in October...was told it would be "something between Noe and February" at the clinic day on Sept 22nd....still waiting for my call for surgery....it is has caused and it still causing me huge amounts of anxiety over not knowing when I will be leaving work, and it's been this entire school year pretty much that I've been waiting for that call any day...the stress comes mainly from the fact that I need to have every thing all planned out in detail for the for the supply teacher for the month or more that I will be off, and also my admin needs time to find someone to replace me but there is no point in telling them until I know when it will be, so I am on pins and needles and not in a good way. Plus I have a very demanding course assignment this semester that I can barely keep up with myself and worry about dumping it on a poor supplyvteacher, argh. Just need to vent, I know everyone goes through this. If there are any other high school teachers reading this I would like to know how long it was before you could realistically handle working again. I teach 4 different subjects every day including a culinary tech class so its far from a desk job.

Have you called the office back to find out what the hold up is?  I was always on the phone, pestering...lol  I found it helped with the stress.  Although they usually only give you a months notice in Moncton.  Where are you getting your surgery?

My surgery is going to be in Bathurst. I was told back before Christmas that my stuff had all be sent to Pre-admissions and so I should be calling them....I've left messages there, the lady calls back a day or two later and says to call her at such and such a number, so I do, and get nothing but voice mail, so I leave another message, get a call back saying to call her, get voice mail, and it just goes on in a loop like that. This was supposed to take place in the fall, but as long as it doesn't run into June it's ok, but I'm beginning to worry that it actually might! I am afraid it might interfere with my only child's graduation and I don't want to miss that, of all times to be in hospital/laid up!

Well for the past several weekdays I have been calling several times a day at the number I was given, but no answer yet. This morning I was thinking that all that BOOST I bought back in the fall might expire before I get to drink it LOL
