3 years ago today, my life has changed forever.

I don’t post here too often anymore as pretty busy and don’t always think to come check out the group, and it’s harder with no notifications also, so I forget to check.

A little about me, 3 years ago, this was my Valentine’s Day gift that I will forever remember.

My highest weight was Jan 10th, 2012 and weighed in at 333 lbs.

I decided to follow the Slim Fast Diet prior to my 2 week Pre-Op diet and starting Jan-10-2012 to Feb-14-2012 (surgery day) I was down a total of 22 lbs.

On surgery day, (Feb-14-2012) I was down to 311 lbs.

3 months after surgery, I was down to 265 lbs.

6 months after surgery, I was down to 232 lbs.

1 year after surgery, (Feb-14-2013), I was down to 180 lbs.

2 year after surgery, (Feb+14-2014), I was down to 165 lbs. Which meant I has lost a total of 168 lbs. SO I lost more than ½ my weight.

My lowest weight was 155 lbs at some point but gained back about 10 lbs to 165 and my body seemed to have settled down there or a few months until my 2 year mark.

Just few days before my 2 year mark, I found out I was pregnant, so I also quit smoking and it all went down the drain from there!  I was at about 165 lbs for a few months, and the day before I had my baby I was up to 242.5 lbs. (weight gained 77.5 lbs)

2 weeks after having baby, I was down 31 lbs, so I had a lot of swelling and water retention. However 4 months after baby, I’m still struggling, still not eating properly, eat when I can and grab what is easy to eat.

So I sit here, 3 years after my surgery at about 215 lbs.  So I still have about 50 lbs to lose to get back to pre-pregnancy weight.

1st year is pretty easy to lose weight, 2nd year, temptations starts slowly, after 2 years, is where I started struggling and still am now. I know what I need to do, however the brain is working against the right choices. This 50 lbs might take forever to lose, but I’ll be damned if I give up!! I will try to use my tool and get back on track to get healthy for myself and my kids!

i also am on the same page as you without a little one.

i have gained like 25 pds and cannot for the life of me lose it. i log everything (and truthfully) into myfitnesspal and walk an average of 4.5 kms a day. and am stalled.

i am so upset and depressed over this.  i get what you are saying though. i want to and am trying so hard to get back on track.  i only want to lose the 25 and be back to 225. that is my goal (started at 452+).  better-life, if you have suggestions that are working for you, share :) i am three years out in may and TOTALLY agree with you, take such advantage of that first year cause after that you are in the same pot as everyone else and things are back to normal in the losing pounds race

congrats on the babe :)

Sunnie41,

Think about it, 25 lbs is really not that bad!!

I also use myfitnesspal, if we aren't friends, please add me same name as here better_life_ahead.

you might just have to tweak your eating a bit, maybe your body needs a boost, especially if you eat same foods on a daily basis, maybe if possible to add a little jogging in your walks? even if it's just 1 min every 5 or 10 mins.

that's what i keep hearing that if you are on a stall, that you need to change a bit of what you are doing and your body might adapt to it. other than that, i don't have much more suggestions.

Someone tagged a few days ago on facebook on a quote, and I'd like to share it with you......

"Always Focus On How Far You've Come, Rather Than How Far You Have Left To Go".

You started at over 450 lbs, be proud !! :) Don't get upset and depressed over it, you are strong and you just need to have a good attitude around it and things will come in place!

Pssssstttt.......

I just recently started tracking back in MFP, please kick my butt if you see me tracking "unhealthy" foods!! haha

Hello,

I am wondering if you know if there is some sort of support group for lap band surgery in Moncton, NB.  I had the surgery 2.5 years ago, I have never had any support.  The company I went with in Ontario went bankrupt so I don't even have anyone I can call to ask a questions and I have many.  Any groups or even a doctor local that I can go to I'm sure can help.  I'm sure I'm not suppose to have these problems.

My name is Linda and my email address is [email protected]   Thank you in advance.

Hi Linda,

There is a monthly support group meetings once a month in Moncton for post-op patients, however I am not 100% sure it's only for the people that has had surgery in Moncton or not. The monthly meeting is coming up soon and I'll ask and get back at you :). Dr Beausoleil is the one doing the surgeries in Moncton, and again, not sure if he sees patients that aren't his. You could always call and ask also.
