Dissapointed, But Still Hopeful!
I went to Moncton yesterdy for the final stuff before my schedualed surgery on the 21st. The nurse said when I did the pre-admission testing 2 weeks ago my blood was low. It was 87 whatever that means. Today I had more blood drawn and got a call a few minutes ago that it's 84 now. The Dr. has to postpone my surgery and do a scope to see if I'm bleeding internally. I'm disappointed, but I understand we need to do things safely.
Blood was low - means your Hemoglobin - also referred to as Hgb - was low. Hgb is the oxygen carrying component of the red blood cell. Normal for a female of child bearing age is 120 to 140. So yes, disapointing - but a problem that needs to be investigated before surgery. You would not do well going into surgery with a Hgb that low. Good luck to you!
