One week update

After my first few days in the hospital, things have been pretty good. There is no pain in the stomach itself ( apparently very few pain receptors lol) and the staple holes are really bothering me either. The most pain in the butt is the sensation of being hungry. Sometimes it feels like a gnawing pain in my stomach. I called Dr b's office after one night of no sleep from the pain and they said it's the acid making that sensation. I wonder if all those years, when I thought I was really hungry and over ate, it was only too much acid!  If only I had of known this years ago!  Anyway Dr b's office called a Rx for texts to my pharmacy. It's not totally working and I may need something else?  Right now I'm biding my time. My daughter moved yesterday and I helped in a none lifting way by washing dishes and sorting out her kitchen for four hours, in two two hour sessions.  Lol. Sitting on a chair behaving, didn't hurt so I think it was ok.

But on to my next complaint. After noticing the white sweater on my tongue, I want to my family Dr. I have a bad case of thrush. Probably from the antibiotics after the surgery. So now I get to fit into my tight feeding and drinking schedule another one for an oral rinse four times a day for fourteen days. And no drinking for half an hour after!   Aggghhh.  So obsessed with getting everything in at the right time. It's a full time job. Lol

job interview tomorrow. I'm a government employee so it would just be switching units on the base. But after that I can focus on me.  Ah can almost relax. And then it will be time to go back to work.

Oh yes, I forgot about the trush!  I'm not sure everyone gets it but I did, and did the rinse for a week or so. I presumed it was because we're not eating solids and therefore not naturally scraping the residue off our tongues. I don't remember being on antibotics after surgery, just pain / nauseau meds fora  few days but my memory may not be serving me well.

Good luck with your interview today, I'm sure it'll be nice to have that behind you. I'm glad to hear you're on the mend, you'll feel 100% after getting your staples are out. I had one that wasn't very tight and used steri strips on it before and after the staples were removed. You're well on your way!

I asked the Dr if the thrush could be because of my diet and he said no. My hubby said he heard the nurse tell me one of the little bags in the if was antibiotics. And my Dr said that for sure we would have gotten some while we were still out for the surgery. Oh well, minor nuisance.

Great to hear your feeling so good. I was not nearly feeling so good that soon out. I got there eventually but it took some time. I hope that things continue to go well for you. Best of luck. Jillian.

Glad to hear things are moving along well for you. I'm just waiting for a surgery date in Moncton. Been cleared by the Psycologist for a few months. Does anyone know who I call? Do you have the number? Just curious as to how much longer i need to wait.

So happy for you, even with the inconveniences I am sure that you are happy to have this part behind you.  I am also currently waiting for my surgery date in Moncton, everything has been cleared for a "go" now it is just a waiting game.  I have been following your updates and have found them encouraging and it makes the waiting a little easier.  Thanks a million!

I was cleared from the psych last February. I kept checking with the receptionist and at a certain point she gave me the number to admissions, I think, at the hospital. The receptionists number is 506-862-7558.  I would start with there.
