has anyone had their surgery by him in Fredericton yet? My Dr. sent my referral to him a little over a year ago and I got a call from his office on Friday! I was told 5-6 Years and I might get that call. His receptionist said I had to go in to be assessed and get info from the office. I don't think I'm actually seeing him at this appointment. July 23rd! EEK I'm kind of scared! I have no idea what to expect from his office. Anyone know?

Dr. Boisvert did my surgery July 10th. He is excellent! I highly recommend him! His assistant, Erin, is also wonderful!

what does he use on you for your surgery

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. You are put under and he does the sleeve (VGS) laproscopically. It takes about 2 hours. You're in the hospital for about 3 days afterwards on pain meds and you're sent home with some as well.

I was on the waiting list with a doctor in Moncton for a few years and then about a year and a half with Dr. Boisvert after my referral was transferred to him. After I filled out all the paper work, I met with him a few months later and then a few months later was the surgery. You also have to see the dietician twice before surgery and my endocrinologist also saw me and referred me to a psychologist to see before and after the surgery. Most other programs have that type of team and I was lucky to have my endocrinologist set one up for me.

I would love to know how you were able to get in so quickly! I spoke with his receptionist today and she told me the list is 4-7 years long right now.  It seems so weird that it could jump so much in such a short period of time!

I know he has been filling up fast but there are a few things different with Dr boisvert he does not go by referral dates he chooses his patients and from what I under stand does not take anyone that is very high risk. Like extremely obese like over 600lbs, over age 50, heart issues, etc.  Or smokers he is very very strict on the smoking you have to be completely quit for 6 months before he will do your surgery and he checks your bloodwork.

I'm pretty sure the receptionist tells everyone that call that so they don't call and get their referrals changed to him because its faster. A friend of mine  called a little over year ago about the same time I got my first call and was told 5 to 7 years... She had her surgery 4 or 5 weeks ago now.
