I have Dr. Beausoleil.  I signed my papers on July 19, had surgery November 19.  Once you sign the papers, your surgery date and is in the hands of the hospital administration, nothing whatsoever to do with his office, so  neither Dr. Beausoleil nor his secretary can speed things up whatsoever.  Waiting period takes time as it is based on when operating room time is available, the days Dr. Beausoleil is assigned time in the operating room, and if you have to be admitted overnight, that there is a bed available.  Hang in there...papers are signed, it will happen!!  :)

Hi, I have Dr B . I signed off on my surgery in July and it was five months from when I signed off on my surgery until I am going to have surgery which is in 13 days on Dec 10th,  I'm on my second day of the pre surgery shakes and the vanilla is not great, I just ordered some Torani sugar free syrup so I am hoping that comes quick so I can try and see if that makes them taste better.

I added frozen fruit to the vanilla shakes...made a big difference, and was able to change the flavor around through the week.  Got bags of frozen mangoes, strawberries  and cherries from Sobeys, one cup 80 calories, so it made it go down much better.

Hi there, just curious, if they actually ok'ed you to add frozen fruit to your shakes? Was this during pre-op??

I wouldn't  think they would have allowed us to do that as they make it pretty strict to follow the pre-op diet to the letter.

Hi.  The dietitian thought it was a great idea...this was preoperative so no worrying about tiny pieces of fruit.  It gave it more a texture of a true milkshake, where it was like ice cream with the little icy pieces of fruit.   I set the blender to puree state so I could not even detect anything solid at all.  was nice to flip the vanilla shake to a cherry vanilla or mango vanilla and so on.  I lost 10 pounds on the preop  diet.  I was warned I will lose weight at a slower rate since I have less than 100 pounds to lose.  I would like to lose another 50-60 pounds for my goal weight.   As of today I lost 20 pounds total, today being three weeks postoperative, had my staples out today and had my visit with the dietitian.  :)

I had my first appointment with Dr Beausoleil July 31 2013, I have not heard a thing back from that office since, I then got a call to go see Dr Savoie for my first appointment Oct 18 2013 and I signed the papers for surgery and everything then, and I goy my letter in the mail to go to my information session already on Dec 3rd, and anyone I talk to that is going trough Dr Savoie generally get there surgery with in a month to 2 months from the info session!   I hope this helps a little :D

that's everyone for your info it helps me figure out how long the wait will be. I only wonder because the nurse at the info class told our group we should have surgery before christmas so i was a little disappointed  he said May because i was  hopping to have it done before i start back to work in May.

What the nurse told you was probably correct AT THAT TIME.....but hospital administration stuff....surgery planning, operating room time and so on can change things instantly, especially if they had a larger volume of urgent operations come through, which pushes Dr. Beausoleil's operating room time around.
