I have to see the psychologist
Even after almost 2 years, I'm seeing Amanda now. I was seeing someone else and was supposed to see Tanya however they decided that it might be a good idea to just stick with Amanda as she will be there and the others might just be temporary, Amanda is the 3rd one i see, so it's kind of annoying to go through all this information multiple times.
When I first saw them, they cleared me right away. However after about 1 year out, I started with eating issues again and figured it couldn't hurt to start seeing them regularly, I have been going about once a month now for at least 6-7 months.
Can't really say it's helping much, but I'm sure it's not hurting me either. Not sure this post will help, however just wanted to put it out there that this surgery is definitely NOT a fix for life and they do not operate on the head and it gets tough again when the cravings starts again.
I never knew in the beginning that I would still get food issues as for the first 11 months or so for me, I really needed to force myself to eat. Had no desire to eat at all, no cravings, and junk food didn't bother me at all, actually it could make me feel sick just by looking at junk food. However once the little tummy is fully healed and time goes by, it IS definitely possible that food issues come back.
Have you started to keep track of your diet like she suggested? I still today use My Fitness Pal everyday, keeps me on my toes when i track everything i put in my mouth. Sometimes you don't actually realize how much you actually eat until you start marking it down. If you are not using some sort of tracking, my suggestion is to start, it does really help a lot. There is a ton of phone apps also, i can use my phone to scan food i eat, so it's pretty easy!!
Let us know how it's going!!
