Can I have some info about the info session? Do you need to be invited or can you just go? If so can you give me some info about where to go.

The info session is for those that have had their initial consult with the surgeon already. It tells you what to expect and has info from the nurse dietician and psychologist. You need this step to have your surgery.

Ok. One more step done. Even with all the research and listening to your stories on this site, there are always things to learn...different ways to look at things. It was a long day, but I went to Moncton Monday evening. It helped not being tired while there. They say my surgery should be from four to six months. I figure January or February. Some stuff was scary...the risks and potential complications, but I'm trying to think only of a positive outcome and feeling better!

Thanks so much I go for my first consult Nov 6 and have tried to find out everything I can so far...hearing whats ahead of me helps but honestly I just want to get on with all of it...the waiting is hard.

I so sympathize about the waiting! My referral went in oct 2008. You kind of put it out of your mind and live your life. But once you get the first appt you start to feel like you are chomping at the bit!! That wait is harder. I wish he did his apps closer. Maybe wait on the first one. I think dr savoie does that. But it's all a necessary evil so we endure. Lol. I do find it gives you a chance to freak out, go through the "what the heck am I doing" and settle down once you think sensibly again and remember all the reasons for starting this journey. Some people here post that they never feel the panic, but I did. Maybe I analyse and over think too much. Not sure.
